Fast Casual Nation will be the restaurant industry’s first in a Podcasting 3.0 revolution that will focus on new interactive engagement models and build a new education frontier for information on the fast-casual restaurant industry.

FastCasual editor Cherryh Cansler is joining Paul Barron as co-host of the newly revamped podcast, Fast Casual Nation, the longest-running podcast covering the fast-casual restaurant industry.

“As the founder of Fastcasual.com, the Fast Casual Executive Summit and the Fast Casual Top 100, Barron has been instrumental in shaping the sector’s trajectory, and we are excited to rejoin forces,” said Kathy Doyle, publisher of Networld Media Group, FastCasual’s parent company. “Cherryh has been covering the fast-casual industry for over a decade through our news site, webinars, podcasts and face-to-face events. She’s been nominated several times as one of the top leaders in the industry. It’s a perfect match for collaboration.”

The duo’s first podcast will post Feb. 28.

Since his initial foray into fast casual, Barron has become a media and investing entrepreneur with two platforms — Savor.fm, a thought leadership platform, and paulbarronnetwork.com, focused on blockchain, tech, finance and early-stage investing in the blockchain technology space.

Savor.fm has recently opened its capital and advisory focus for early-stage fast casual startups and early-stage tech for the restaurant industry.

“This partnership (with FastCasual) is timely based on our new efforts at Savor Capital,” Barron said. “I see a next generation of fast-casual emerging, much like when I first discovered this segment in 1993; it was a spattering of concepts with no connection to the modern consumer culture.

“The era of Fast Casual is about to change again. I believe a new generation of brands will break through a new barrier of technology, demographics, and, most importantly, ‘culture.’ This is missing with today’s brands and could be the undoing of large fast casual and casual dining chains that have grown over the past two decades.”

A dynamic duo

Barron said FastCasual was the perfect partner to help spread the word that the shift in the industry is underway.

“The Fast Casual Nation Podcast is now setting up a new course on how podcasts are produced and distributed,” Barron said. “I have been watching fastcasual.com from afar and wanted to bring on a partnership at the perfect time; with Cherryh as my co-host, her work has been nothing short of amazing, so it was a natural pick to accelerate the fast-casual segment again.”

Barron and Cansler bring unparalleled expertise and insight to the fast-casual space, promising to deliver content that is both informative and transformative. The syndication partnership between Barron and Fastcasual.com will focus on:

  • The consumer science of fast-casual dining.
  • Analysis of the segment’s growth potential.
  • Exploring how fast casual is poised to revolutionize the industry once again.
  • Interviews with fast-casual leaders.

By combining their strengths, the partners aim to enhance multiple platforms, including Fastcasual.com, Savor.fm, industry events and the new podcast strategy that Barron and his media science group have developed for syndicating podcasts across many media outlets, events and associations.

“I have been podcasting since 2007, and there has been very little change in the way of podcast technology, which is about to change,” Barron said. “Fast Casual Nation will be the restaurant industry’s first in a Podcasting 3.0 revolution that will focus on new interactive engagement models and build a new education frontier for information on the fast-casual restaurant industry. The platform is already here with hundreds of episodes, a documentary and a book that will assist in the future of this podcast. Now, with a partner like fastcasual.com, the circle is complete, and we can embark on a new frontier of new-age content with new-age operators, tech and insights.”

The revamped Fast Casual Nation podcast will be available across multiple platforms, ensuring easy access for industry professionals and enthusiasts alike. Listeners may tune in on Fastcasual.com, Savor.fm, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify or iHeartRadio.
