The 2023 ATM & Self-Service Software Trends Report aims to give key insights into the industry by surveying financial institutions and other companies on how they are utilizing self-service software. The survey for this report is open until May 31.

It can be difficult to keep up with trends in a rapidly shifting environment, especially as automation and AI tools begin to make big waves in every industry.

For the ATM and self-service industries in particular, one report aims to give key insights: The 2023 ATM & Self-Service Software Trends Report. This is the 16th annual report, which is sponsored by KAL ATM Software and it gathers data from the industry by surveying financial institutions and other companies on how they are utilizing self-service software. The survey for this report is open until May 31.

For those who participate in the survey, five financial institution participants will be selected to receive a free pass to the upcoming Bank Customer Experience Summit, being held in Charlotte, North Carolina from Sept. 12 to 13. The event will be held in tandem with the ICX Summit from Sept. 11 to 13 and one pass provides entry to both events.

Those who participate in the survey can download the full report before its release and attend an exclusive ATM Marketplace webinar with Marylin Bell, head of marketing at KAL, who will discuss the findings.

In addition to the free passes to the Bank Customer Experience Summit, one winner from a financial institution and one non-bank will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

To learn more about the report, what it will cover and how it will benefit organizations, ATM Marketplace spoke with Bell.

Q. What are some key software trends to look out for?

A. As the role of the ATM continues to expand, the demand for software that supports an increased range of self-service functionality is growing. Banks are looking to make their ATMs faster, more secure and more convenient to use.

Some key trends to look out for include touchless cash withdrawals, contactless transactions, mobile integration, more appealing User Interfaces, remote teller assist and biometric identification, to name a few. Interest in outsourcing ATM software development, testing and distribution is on the rise among banks, while the whole industry is set to benefit hugely from XFS4IoT (the new global XFS standard for ATMs).

Q. What are the primary benefits of the ATM & Self-Service Software Trends report?

A. Our free report educates and empowers global ATM industry stakeholders by explaining the latest ATM market trends from a software perspective. It promotes the exchange of knowledge through expert commentary, broader tech observations and (most importantly) insights from survey respondents occupying a wide variety of ATM-centric roles. With over 75% of banks reporting a steady or increased reliance on ATMs during our last survey period, navigating the evolving self- service landscape is more vital than ever before. These are just a few of the reasons why the ATM & Self-Service Software Trends report remains an indispensable resource for banks.

Q. What are the primary benefits of taking the survey?

A. Our five-minute survey is rewarding in more ways than one. Firstly, it gives global colleagues the opportunity to have a direct influence on the ATM industry’s number one report. The responses we receive significantly impact the conclusions we reach. Secondly, the survey includes a prize draw with the chance to win a pass to the 2023 BCX Summit (five available) or an Amazon voucher (two available). In the third quarter of this year, we will invite all survey respondents to preview the final report before it is available to the public. So, in that sense, everyone’s a winner.
