While cashless payment continues to expand, retail and convenience services industry experts say consumers continue to use cash and do not foresee its demise any time soon.
Certain fast growing industry verticals, such as gaming and cannabis dispensaries, rely heavily on cash while the masses of unbanked and underbanked Americans rely exclusively on cash for everyday purchases.
Fortunately, today’s payment technology allows retailers and equipment operators to accept cash along with cashless payment.
During the Self-Service Innovation Summit, Dec. 14-16 in Hollywood, Florida, a panel of experts will offer their insights on the outlook for cash and the technology operators will need to meet this consumer demand during a panel session, “Cash Is Not Dead.”
Panelists include:
- Vik Devjee, vice president, CIMA Cash Handling America.
- Shawn Fellows, president, Diamond Amusements Inc.
- Andrew Kartiganer, president, Professional Vending Services.
- Bruce Renard, executive director, The National ATM Council.
Shaun Ferrari, vice president, Currency Research, will moderate the panel.
