Louisville-based Networld Media Group will hold its fourth annual Restaurant Franchising & Innovation Summit at the Omni Louisville Hotel on March 11-13.
Networld is the publisher of several online news and information sites covering various segments of the restaurant industry, including FastCasual.com, QSRweb.com, PizzaMarketplace.com and FoodTruckOperator.com.
Networld launched the Restaurant Franchising & Innovation Summit in 2016 to provide a forum for restaurant operators to learn how innovation in all facets of their business can lead to franchise growth. This will be its second year in Louisville after being held in Dallas its first two years.
This year’s Summit will begin with a keynote address from Ryan Smolkin, founder and CEO of Smoke’s Poutinerie, a fast-growing Canadian franchise. Smolkin, a high-energy speaker who will likely wear his signature plaid shirt, aviator hat and mirrored sunglasses on stage, will talk about strategic brand building through entertainment.
Immediately following Smolkin’s keynote, Summit attendees will gather for a “Community Giveback Party” where they will make about 2,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for local families served by Louisville’s Wayside Christian Mission.
The Summit will feature breakout sessions covering topics such as digital marketing, culinary trends, next-gen restaurant technology, international franchising and more. Panelists for these sessions will include executives from:

At the end of Day Two of the Summit, attendees and sponsors will be treated to a private dinner party at the Kentucky Derby Museum.
The Summit will conclude on Day Three with a “Franchising Think Tank” panel discussion with the presidents of Auntie Anne’s, Huey Magoo’s, Krystal, and Schlotzsky’s. They will talk about the hottest issues facing the restaurant industry and what it takes to succeed in franchising.
